Kathy Brown

Katherine Brown, known professionally as Kathy Brown, is a house vocalist from Charleston, South Carolina who relocated to New York in the late 1960s. Born in 1960, Brown initially performed in a gospel group with her mother and two sisters before joining the R&B trio Sweet Cinnamon in the late 1970s, formed by musician Glen Quick. Brown began releasing electronic music in 2018, accumulating 14 releases across the underground house scene.

Brown's vocal work spans house, jackin house, tech house, and nu disco, appearing on prestigious labels including Defected Records, Glitterbox Recordings, Get Physical Music, Toolroom, and Soulfuric Trax. Her releases demonstrate the soulful vocal tradition of classic house music, bringing gospel-influenced delivery to contemporary dancefloor productions.
