Norwell

Norwell is the project of Hungarian electronic artist Balázs Semsei, based in Budapest. Active since 2014, Semsei also records under the alias Elbow Room and co-founded the Farbwechsel label alongside his production work.

His productions span electronica, downtempo, deep house, and peak-time techno, with releases appearing on Lobster Theremin, Mechatronica Music, Dalmata Daniel, and Patron Records between 2014 and 2020. Norwell's sound combines grainy analogue synthesizer textures with modern electronic structures, resulting in tracks that work equally well in introspective listening sessions and dancefloor environments. His six-release catalog demonstrates a range from contemplative downtempo pieces to driving techno productions, making his output suitable for DJs programming both warm-up and peak-hour sets.
