The Egyptian Lover

The Egyptian Lover is Greg J. Broussard, a Los Angeles-based producer who began releasing electronic music in 1963. Known for pioneering electronic boogie and electro, he also performs under the alias The Egyptian Prince. His mid-1980s tracks like "Egypt, Egypt" became standards among club DJs in the break-dance scene. Since 2018, he has released 11 tracks across various electronic labels including Unknown to the Unknown, Exploited Ghetto, Eskimo Recordings, Soul Clap Records, and TSZR.

His contemporary releases span house, melodic house & techno, Afro house, deep house, and electronica genres, marking a significant evolution from his original electro and hip hop roots. The Egyptian Lover's current output appears on respected underground labels, with his most recent release scheduled for December 2025. His sound has transitioned from the electronic boogie and electro foundations of the 1980s to encompass modern house variations, maintaining relevance across multiple decades of electronic music evolution.
