Arms & Legs is a Berlin based house and techno label founded in 2011 by Daniel Steinberg and Nils Ohrmann, that they now run together with Kristin Velvet. Over the past decade, Aussie Kristin Velvet’s life has been devoted to music in one way or another – first as a promoter and DJ in Tokyo, then as the Australian label manager of UK’s Domino Records and today – where she is an essential figure of Berlin’s club scene. As the track title “Marshall & Pierre” may let on – this is indeed a classic house affair where she has enlisted the vocal talents of Windy City legend Felix Da Housecat over her bouncy and nostalgic groove. Second offering “It’s Hot” is a stomping acid house workout that takes it cues from Chicago’s second wave – namely the sound of the seminal Relief Records in the early to mind ’90s.
