A double dose of spice as two of Chile’s most exciting musical proponents join forces on ‘Ídolos’.

Fresh from her previous Pets outing alongside of Balam, Madrid-based DJ, producer, promoter and all round scene shaker, Fernanda Arrau, returns to the label, this time in partnership with Persona RS. ‘Match Point’ finds the pair taking centre court to pay tribute to Chilean Tennis player, Chino Ríos, with some powerful B-Boy styling. Scything retro-rhythms and classic Chicago vibes are cheekily adorned with cascading synths, vintage piano lines and dominant back hands. Winning our vote and easily taking the win.

Doubling up and further strengthening the firey latin flavour are Argentinian duo, DJs Pareja. The duo take Match Point into darker realms, bringing the original bass melody to the fore and allowing it to purr loud. They ramp the break beats and increase the drama with claps, kick drums, horns and more, creating a warehouse mood that is crying out for smoke machines and strobe lights.

Fernanda and Persona RS lighten the mood on ‘Pichichi’. Radiating 80’s pop sensations, this glorious synth-laden number is an ode to Ivan Zamorano, one of the finest Chilean ballers. Think big hair, short shorts and the slickest moves. Wonderfully rewarding, Pichichi is a top corner, back of the net finalé to the glorious ‘Ídolos’ EP.//
