Behind the Electronica : Release Notes
This is the 2st teaser single announcing the forthcoming album “Rhythmique Nocturne” by Christian Prommer, to be released on 10th of July’26. A decade in the making, this re imagining of Roberta Flack’s 1969 classic “Tryin’ Times” turns a protest soul song into a modern jazz rave invocation. Prommer loops, fragments and deconstructs elements of the original recording, amplifying its message as a deep, dark yet urgent call for unity in a fractured world. Perfect recreation of the original vocal style by Justine Hoerwarth. Additional piano from Berlin based Mosés Yoofee adds harmonic fire, while Prommer’s snare fills are played on the very first snare drum he ever touched as a child in Styria, inherited from his marching band uncle and carrying decades of history in every hit. The result is a swirling, hypnotic anthem where memory, politics and the dancefloor collide.
