Behind the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) : Release Notes
Asymmetric head honcho Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a blistering five track EP ‘Decision Paralysis’. The EP kicks off with ‘Gluons’, a gritty shuffling four-to-the-floor beat and burbling bass are joined by some old-school Detroit chords, tipping a hat back to sampler days. Second up is ‘Windswept’ with its punchy bass arpeggio and rhythm and a dusting of staccato hats. Centering the release is ‘Opposite Worlds II’, revisiting a prior track but concentrating on its addictive middle section and layering on some more magic. Title track ‘Decision Paralysis’ is up next and melds together heavy bass, broken beats, Kennedy-like melodic stabs and acid intermissions with ease. Closing out is the ominous ‘Orbit Of The Unseen’, setting a dark pulsating cinematic wash against a steady kick.
