Returning once again to Greyscale’s ever dependable Mood Series, Just For You finds the producer refining his gift for making incredible dub techno. Opening cut ‘0.27’ wastes no time in pulling you in. Dense layers of texture wrap around a meaningful rhythm, with thick production lending every element real substance. The beat carries a quiet sense of intent, while drifting chords and shadowy details encourage complete hypnotism. ‘0.28’ ventures even deeper. Emerging from subaquatic depths, its more solemn chord work gives off a reflective quality that contrasts beautifully against the surrounding composition. Metallic tones glance off one another as the arrangement steadily expands, building tension with confidence. When the drums momentarily recede, the track reaches its subtle but brief peak. Closing with ‘0.29’, Pellegrino sends us off with lighter. Crisp snares and taut kicks provide a subtle tech side, while clever percussion keeps everything moving forward.
