Credits for this Untitled 12″ see SUED boss SVN as producer and his S.P. Posse partner Philip Gelberg as the writer, but regardless of the exact iteration of how PG Sounds are set up the two tracks here fall nicely into the open ended sonic universe that’s grown organically around SUED, Acido and the Sex Tags crew. It’s open to interpretation whether you should play these two fcked up Latin productions at 33rpm or 45rpm (the label suggest the latter) with the A Side sounding great at 33rpm whilst the cowbell laden B Side glides along in it’s own lopsided manner best at a heavily pitched down 45 rpm.

Consisting of three untitled productions, SP Posse demonstrates SVN is just as comfortable behind the buttons with Gelberg as he is with Takeshi Wada as Tase or Dynamo Dreesen as Dreesvn. Despite the minimal amount of elements used in each production, there’s a dreamy hypnotic quality to all of them which adds a sense of unity to proceedings and if we were pushed to pick a favourite it would have to be the underwater tabla grooves of the final production.

If you think back to the emotions felt when the needle dropped on that first White Material record back in the summer of 2012, it’s a similar feeling of excitable uncertainty that grips you as the high octane box jam “Detour” thrusts into gear. What follows is at times loose (“Hangman”) others alien (“Shapes” sounds a bit like Jamal Moss) but always quality.
