The rest they say is history. Given the reissue clamour of anything related to the birth of Detroit techno, it’s quite strange that the record hasn’t been licensed for an official new edition in the ensuing two decades or so, until now that is! Presented here in it’s promo edition, you get a chance to here “Sonic Fusion”, a track that never officially came out and was replaced by “There and Beyond”. Issued on this new label, it sees the Dutch producer experiment with various tempos, but with each track drawing on the same sound textures. “Possessed” is a slow, low-slung grind that will test even the most tolerant ears, but it can’t compare to the self-explanatory “We Have Become The Filth Of The Universe “. There, Koreman delivers an acid assault so grimy and tawdry that it makes Guy Tavares sound like a model of sanity. If you are still left standing, “New Earth Army”, with its ass-quaking bass and undercurrent of brutal oppression will wring any lingering opposition from your crushed soul.

Insights 9:04 Total Playtime: 19:12 min Back in 2012, DJ Sprinkles and Mark Fell surprised everyone with the release of The Complete Spiral, a collaborative 12″ on the former’s Comatonse label that brandished three sublime exercises in classicist deep house. It was made all the more distinctive by the usage of a vocal sample from ’80s Trade Unionist Arthur Scargill, perhaps a knowing nod to all the deep house producers over the years that have sampled that Martin Luther King speech. Some three years on and the pair return with a new 12″, Fresh Insights (EP 1), which suggests there will be further insights forthcoming from Fell and Sprinkles. Again the production is spot on, be it the simple exercise in chord rich instrumental deepness that is “Insights” or the lead track “Fresh” which utilises more spoken words, this time from Tony Benn.
