The German label has released none other than Blawan, Sunil Sharpe and even the AnD duo in the past so you know it’s going to be a rather filthy affair when these dudes drops a 12″! This time it’s Italy’s Pasquale Ascione who dishes out the techno lashings – the young producer is the co-owner of Repitch Recordings and has released on the likes of Modularz, Krill Music and even Adam Beyer’s Drumcode – in the label’s familiarly moody aesthetic. Four big room workouts filled with plenty of hypnotics and even flurries of that ol’ 303 magic we all love so much. Our picks are “Junkers” for its beautifully sequenced bassline and “Ulm”, a stranger, more abstract vision of techno. Recommended.

To date, they’ve released just three EPs and one album – written with regular studio pal Steve Murphy – in three years. There’s a significant chance, then, that the Lancia Delta EP could be their only outing in 2015. It’s predictably as essential as their previous releases, with A-side “Xm II” – a thrillingly locked-in, heads-down concoction boasting bumping Italian house drums and superbly evocative chords – leading the charge. They show their robust side on the muscular acid funk of “Composed 22”, while “Paper Plan (Dub)” does a neat job of fusion loopy, techno style rhythms with glassy-eyed deep house chords.

The release will contain also the original short-time version. Bourbonese Qualk came into existence in 1979, and put out a stream of confrontational albums through much of the ’80s and into the early ’90s. After a long pause, their final album, On Uncertainty, came out in 2001, and the band disbanded the next year after the death of guitarist Miles Miles. “Lies”, a terse, TR 808 driven electro-tinged cut just under two minutes long, originally came out in 1986 on the Preparing For Power LP by way of the group’s own label Recloose Organization.
