‘Italian duo ØURSPACE follow up records on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, Jeton Records and their own Audio Elite Records, stepping back into the Kuukou catalogue with some neat and nimble Techno showcasing their knack for balancing power and playfulness in equal measures. ‘Persistence’ gets us going with a razor groove that marries percussive precision with widescreen 90s synths. Rhythmically, the track is rock solid and impossible to resist. Muffled snares and bongos ricochet off a grounded 4/4 giving the track a fluid and loose vibe while an electric synth lead darts in the lime-light. Energy courses on towards a startling breakdown built with shards of glacial sonics that guaranteed to shake the floor into focus. ‘Yeah!’ follows up, blending textured percussion with a filtered synth line that shimmers at the track’s core. Again, the rhythms remain dialled and the groove is tight, precise and charismatic as it unfolds like a live jam. Signals are steadily modulated as they bend, flex and distort giving the audio a living, breathing character as it steadily snakes and shakes throughout.’
