Behind the House : Release Notes
PETS Recordings invites NYC producer, DJ and Jack City label boss Pinto for his latest EP ‘Studio 11211’. Rooted in New York and Brooklyn’s underground warehouse parties, Pinto’s tracks have landed him on labels including Nervous, Glasgow Underground, and Moxy Muzik. Pinto’s genre-blending sound of tech house, house, and jackin house has been recognised by the likes of Carl Cox, Marco Carola, and Seth Troxler. ‘Studio 11211’ EP is a showcase of Pinto’s grooving sound with a distinctive disco flair. The opening track ‘11211’ features a funky bassline and guitar solos reminiscent of an 80s club track with a modern two-step fix. ‘Your Mad Love’ follows suit, incorporating house-style trumpets and heavier percussion, keeping his finger on the pulse whilst adding dimension and layers to the track. The closing track ‘I Say’ is the perfect ending for the EP, full of energy and emotion with the collision of four-to-the-floor percussion, transcendent strings, and uplifting vocals.
