Behind the Melodic House & Techno : Release Notes

For its thirty-eighth drop, ICONYC welcomes surging Italian creator Alessio Cristiano to the fore with his unmistakable imprint debut, “The Moment”. A complete threat, this absolute weapon arrives fully loaded with three distinct cuts that each occupy their own space while pulling unmistakably in the same direction, mapping the full breadth of Cristiano’s vision in a single, decisive stroke. Our first cut, “The Moment”, patiently bids its time, introducing itself in seductive layers that hijack our bodies with every passing bar. Constructed over a throbbing frame, Cristiano slowly integrates surging chords that infuse the cavernous space with an unbridled rush of blood to the head while deploying a concoction of heady vocals that run amok on the dancefloor. A mesmerizing masterclass in tension and release, “The Moment” is a dusky hybrid bound to override factory settings everywhere. Catching sharp corners at full speed, Alessio then presents us with the scrumptious “Company”. Between clipped hats and a restless low-end pulse, our Italian producer unleashes an unadulterated barrage of cascading chords and stabs that rummage unsupervised throughout the piece as mangled vocal chops and diva-esque flourishes blossom in the darkness, nestled in irresistible arrangements for a grandiose escapade that highlights Cristiano’s phenomenal sense of taste. Wrapping up this vibrant capsule, “Digital” provides the perfect closer. Designed over a flavorful percussive pattern, our last entry follows a thumping bassline and a steady synthetic sequence as lush and deep vocals wash over us before uncovering a smoldering lead that contorts in hypnotic fashion. Slowly, Alessio begins to warp every element around him, dissolving them in acidic overtones, before reconfiguring the chemical integrity for a last dance under a sky that no longer looks quite the way it did before.
